Wine Correspondent Alliance

There are six categories of wine schools which wine afficionados should be familiar with. An Accreditation Body which develops testing and standards for certification. An Affiliate Wine School that offers programs established and run by an international corporation. A Consumer Wine School which offers fun wine tasting classes without any official certification. A Professional Wine School advances its own curriculum and material. A University or College that offers a wine program. Lastly, the top wine schools are the shortlist of the very best schools in the United States. 

The Certified Wine Ambassador is brought to you by The Wine Correspondent Alliance. It is self-paced, program so you can start and stop at any time. Good for beginning and intermediate wine enthusiasts. This course covers wine varietals and styles, wine regions, how to taste, read labels and understand verbiages, for beginners to learn more about wine but also information for intermediate wine afficionados and students. It is rigorous and approachable. Those that complete and pass the course can apply for a Pin and Certificate, 

There are a ton of options that can be attained through avenues of wine study; everything from working for a distributor, importer, retailer, or restaurant to being a marketing copywriter, wine journalist, public relations specialist, or working for a regional wine association such as Bordeaux or Chianti Classico and of course becoming a wine ambassador, afficionado and envoy. 

At its core, Wine Correspondent Alliance promotes the appreciation and advancement of wine, all wine, especially American wine. 

To foster the knowledge of oenology, to promote the responsible use of wine, and to educate wine tasters, winemakers, wine-grape growers, and the wine-community. 

It is through the wine alliance and Wine Correspondent's foundation that we support the acute need for the professional development of qualified experts and scientists to ensure the growth of the American wine industry. 

Similarly, due to convergent technologies and fields of research that focus on biomedicine, evidencebased practices and sustainability impact the wine, healthcare and security industries; Wine Correspondent supports candidates entering the wine, agriculture, health and biocentric industries seeking additional educational financial resources. 

The Wine Correspondent Alliance is a 501(c)(3) organization, and donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable under the law. 

The examination is a written test with 100-102 multiple choice and True/False questions. The minimum pass mark is 80% must be passed together in one sitting. Wine Correspondent Alliance Certified Wine Ambassador’s focus is on a candidate’s ability to demonstrate proficiency in wine styles and regions, wine & beverage information, including technical as well as some popular wine etiquette. 

Wearing the Certified Wine Ambassador Lapel Pin ensures yourself, others and the dining public that you have completed a sincere program that included wine tasting abilities that have been tested across the spectrum. Also, been exposed to a theoretical knowledge of the world of wine and beverages that can assist other wine drinkers and can be on call knowledge when it is required. Most importantly, it recognizes that you appreciate wine and wine service by promoting wine education, it's sciences and enjoyment and care about Wine Correspondent Alliance, Inc.'s mission is to support education and research candidates entering the wine industry through scholarships for college programs.
